John Wesley Wilson, PsyD, is a clinical psychologist, author, and former Evangelical pastor whose life story bridges faith, identity, and healing. Raised in poverty and abuse in the deep South, he found refuge in a small Pentecostal church-a place that felt safe until his sexual orientation emerged at twelve and collided with everything he'd been taught to believe.For years, John built a life around the hope that God would change him-marrying young, becoming a father, and rising to the pulpit to preach a gospel that condemned the core of who he was. His breaking point came decades later, setting him on a path of reconstruction, authenticity, and eventually wholeness.Today, John draws on both psychological training and lived experience to help others heal from religious trauma, identity shame, and spiritual abuse.
