Steamboat Days is the exciting sequel to Return to Cooter Crossing and Equinox of the River Druid with a mix of characters from previous Bennett Bay stories. This means dragons and magic! Steamboat Days is the annual Memorial Day weekend held in Blackwater that kicks off the summer holiday season. It's the biggest event in eastern Big Cypress County and everybody that's anybody is there. Food, fun, steamboat rides and a race, music, fireworks, historical reenactment, and drama. Maxwell Crawford, Executive Director of the Bennett Bay and Big Cypress County Historical Society-and secret slayer of evil-faerie-devouring-spiders, has been tasked to play his forefather, Beauregard Crawford, the commander of the Confederate riverboat Dragon Fire in a reenactment. This not only brings up his ambivalent feelings about his family's role in the Civil War but brings him, once again, face to face with dragons and his family's enchanted past. Something he desperately wants to keep from his lover, Marcus. Aidan Quinn's head is still spinning from the surprise marriage proposal from his lover, Deputy JJ Jackson. Amid a big family get-together at his future brother-in-law's lake house, he has to adjust to the future of being married with two little boys and deal with teen drama. The teen drama. Sean Quinn is spending the two weeks before summer camp begins down in Tampa with his father. He's separated from his boyfriend Ethan for the first time since they got together and they are both melting down. It's not helping that Parker Hanley, a total stud, just rode his motorcycle into town and will be working at the summer camp with them. Oh and Ethan may have a secret past with Parker. Tony Gallo, who lost his lover Lance to an IED incident in the Mideast a few years ago, has fallen into a relationship-of sorts, with his long-time friend, Victor Cruz, a travel writer. Victor is doing a write-up on the Whiskey Creek Guesthouse and the festivities in Blackwater. He invites Tony, who brings his sister and her family along so they can all bond. Note: Victor likes to travel light without a lot of baggage-any kind of baggage. More teen drama! John, Tony's nephew, is dumped by his crew from Rice Creek and is introduced to Ethan and the Bennett Bay gang. Little does he know how this will change his life. Oh, and there is a rather large black dog named Bear that drools a lot.
