Recently the facility has been standardized for simultaneous X-ray and backscattered ion analysis of biological samples. The advantages of using coupled ion beam techniques for comprehensive elemental profiling of organometallic samples are unparalleled. So, the standardization will facilitate the interaction of metal ions with metalloproteins studied using concurrent Particle Induced X-ray Emission (PIXE) spectroscopy and Proton Elastic Scattering Analysis (PESA). Calibration of the beam dump was done for reliable estimation of the total incident projectile ions.
