St Kilda: A Journey to the End of the World is the story of a journey from Glasgow to St Kilda, using a unique photo album showing the tour that tourists would take when they went to visit the remote island group of St Kilda. Using a unique series of images, many taken on the island of Hirta, the route is traced through the Western Isles and takes in Coll, Tiree, Skye, North and South Uist and St Kilda itself. The album itself was found in a Bristol antiques fair and the author collected another 40 or so period images and brochures to trace the route from Glasgows Anderston Quay down the Clyde to Village Bay in St Kilda.

Autor

Campbell McCutcheon has had a life-long interest in the Olympic-class vessels and naval shipping. He has written extensively on the subject along with some Military History and Bradshaw s Railway titles for Amberley. He lives in Gloucestershire, but he was born within sight and sound of the water and has been interested in ships from a young age."
