As a young child growing up on a fine wool Merino sheep farm in country Victoria, Amanda adores the adventures & excitement that nature can provide. She has just spent the last 6 years living in Darwin, Northern Territory where the wonderful diversity in nature & culture opened up a whole new perspective on life for her. Amanda wrote her first book Grandma's Garden when her daughter was 5 months old, as a timeless story of her memories with her Grandmother and her beautiful garden. Sprookie, Froogle & the Three Possum Bandits is a great expression of Amanda's playfulness with the bright colours of nature & great Australian characters. Illustrating is a passion for both Amanda and her mother, Lynette Diss, who enjoyed working with Amanda again in creating colourful Australiana backdrops for Sprookie & Froogle's adventures while capturing the three possum bandits.
