Spark erosion process in dentistry: An overview

Modern precision laboratory procedures have a profound edge over traditional laboratory procedures in fabricating more ideal and precise restorations. Electrical discharge machining (EDM, known as spark erosion in Europe),is one such procedure and is a non conventional, industrial technique that has which has gained momentum in the dental field from the 1990's. EDM is a metal removal process using a series of sparks to erode material from a work piece in a liquid medium under carefully controlled conditions.This book deals mainly with its applications in dentistry.

Dr.Liju is a graduate of dentistry from Tamilnadu Dr.MGR university,Chennai,India (2003) and a post graduate in the field of Prosthodontics from Rajiv Gandhi University,Bangalore,India (2009).She has many journal publications and presentations to her credit.She is presently working as Senior Lecturer in an esteemed dental college in South India.
