Navigating childhood can be difficult for any child at any time, but especially today. Almost exclusively, gone are the days in which one parent is a 'house' parent who tends to a child's every need. In Lila's home, both parents balance big jobs with raising their children and socializing with their peers. Lila, in an attempt to have all her needs met, plays the "Win over the parents game." Sometimes she wins and sometimes she doesn't.

Autor

A lover of words her entire life, Ms. Donahue, has recently had her poetry published in Poetry Quarterly and Fine Lines. Now retired from a 30-year teaching career, with six grandchildren as her inspiration, she has found joy in writing about their antics. Ms. Donahue lives on the north shore of Long Island with her husband, Jack, who is a published poet and novelist. Uliana Barabush has had a life-long love of drawing, which began in her childhood. She was born and lives today in Lviv, a city in Western Ukraine. She studied at the Printing Academy in that city.
