When used as part of a group study with a Sojourner Leader, students will gain additional insights as they discuss each of the lessons with fellow students and the group leader. As a new believer, he read the Bible because he thought that would make him a better Christian-but he did not know how to study the Bible. Over the next thirty years, the Lord brought great teachers into his life who encouraged him to go deeper in his study. Through their encouragement and the work of the Holy Spirit, he began a journey of a lifetime in Bible study. A retired air traffic controller, Richard has been teaching the Bible since 1999-and he is still learning. When he began serving short term in international missions, he started thinking of himself as a Sojourner. He is currently serving as a disaster relief chaplain through the Southern Baptist Convention. Richard and his wife, Amy, have three children and four grandchildren. Their prayer is that everyone in their family-and yours-will grow in their faith walk daily.
