This was with a view to providing a broad-based knowledge on the socio-cultural dimensions and consequences of illegal cross-border trading in the border community. This was complemented with qualitative data gathering techniques such as: key informant interviews, focus group discussions, and non-participant observation.The study concluded that the illegal cross border trading in Idiroko was rampant and a means of livelihood for the community members, but it had also led to the loss of cultural and moral values in Idiroko community.
