The role and status of women are altered in the process of agrarian social transformation due to the technology of cultivation. The disaggregated pattern of development has varied impact on women members of every region, group, class and caste. In this backdrop, it is pertinent to examine the status of women across the levels of rural transformation consequent upon the technological and agricultural growth. Except a few studies conducted here and there, no serious study is done to explain this social phenomenon. An attempt is made in this book to study the women labour especially in agricultural field of Kadapa District of Andhra Pradesh.
