Is it almost impossible to get descent work for an African immigrant no matter the skillset? These and many questions inspire the author to delve deeper into the life of African immigrants specifically those living in Sweden. As an exchange student it was interesting to understand the different dynamics that are at play in this area of finding meaningful engagement based on those you get to know and the institutions you interact with. What about the strange new official language? For arriving immigrants this thesis comes in handy in providing a guide on how to enter the gates of your new found home. I hope you succeed.

Autor

The author holds a Masters of science degree in International Social work and human rights from the University of Gothenburg in Sweden. He also holds a bachelor's degree in social work and social administration from Makerere university in Uganda. Formerly worked with the Netherlands institute for multi party democracy among other social engagements
