Thus, they are now becoming a critical adjunct for increasing the performance of a myriad of wireless applications. They continuously monitor their coverage areas and adapt to the users' direction providing an antenna pattern that tracks the user and provides maximum gain in the his direction. As an effort to relate the topic to practical work and to realize the concept of beamsteered linear array, the prototypes of microstrip linear phased arrays for smart antenna application have been considered for the study. Single element microstrip antenna (SEMA), which is extended to two element microstrip array (TEMA) and four element microstrip array (FEMA) has been simulated using IE3D and detailed experimental studies have been carried out in this regard.
