Alone and forced into the harshness of the futuristic outside world, Annie meets an unlikely companion with a similar objective. Together, they must enlist the help of others in order to get back inside and save those for whom they care most from the evils occurring within the Structure. During Simon's waking hours, he meets a young man named Kanzen Sasaki, who appears to have ties to this future world. Convinced that this future must be avoided at all costs, Simon and his friends embark on another journey, this time to change the future of mankind, all while trying to survive the ghosts of their past in Chicago and prevent the powerful Demon Popobowa from escaping the Dark Dimension to destroy the world as they know it.
