Autor

Sri Ramakant Maharaj nació el 8 de julio de 1941. Es discípulo directo de Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, fallecido el 8 de septiembre de 1981, con quien permaneció diecinueve años. Es un Maestro de las enseñanzas Advaita, la No-dualidad. Es también un Gurú perteneciente a la rama Inchegiri del linaje Navnath Sampradaya, y da la iniciación de este Sampradaya. Ramakant Sawant creció en la zona rural de Phondaghat, Gadgesakhal Wadi, (Estado de Maharashtra, India). En 1965 asistió al prestigioso Elphinstone College a petición de Nisargadatta Maharaj. Se licenció en la Universidad de Bombay en 1972 como Máster en Historia y Política. En 1976 se graduó en Derecho por el Siddhartha Law College, de Bombay. Trabajó en el sector bancario, en un departamento jurídico del que llegó a ser directivo, hasta su jubilación en el año 2000. Está casado con Anvita Sawant, discípula de Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj durante muchos años, con quien tiene dos hijos. En 1962 Ramakant Maharaj fue presentado por unos familiares a su futuro Gurú Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj. Después de pasar varios meses con su Maestro, el día 2 de octubre de 1962, recibió el Naam Mantra, el mantra del Gurú. Desde entonces asistió fielmente a Nisargadatta Maharaj y escuchó sus enseñanzas regularmente. Estuvo presente en el Mahasamadhi de su Maestro en 1981. Durante la última década aproximadamente, en el Ashram de Nashik Road, Sri Ramakant Maharaj ha ido presentando estas enseñanzas a estudiantes, discípulos y devotos de todo el mundo y, a veces, iniciándoles en el linaje Inchegiri Navnath Sampradaya.
