An experiment was conducted during both Kharif and Rabi seasons in 2011-12 and 2012-13 with two nitrogen levels 60 and 120 kg N ha-1 as main treatments and twenty six rice genotypes as sub treatments.Based on the yield performance and nitrogen use efficiency, six rice genotypes viz., MTU-1001, WGL-2395, MTU-1010, Pothana, Bhadrakali and JGL-1798 were selected from Kharif 2011 and the crosses were utilized to produce F1 generation in Rabi 2011-12.
