Sammie is sad because of loneliness but as he gradually meets other creatures of the jungle he finds he isn't alone. Despite each being a different creature they each find they all have something in common. As their friendship grows they realize they are no longer lonely and the differences don't matter. The story tries to show children that differences do not have to lead to loneliness. Happiness grows as you overcome your sadness with friendships.

Autor

As a child, Elaine read every book in her school library and loved fiction. Elaine has always enjoyed working for and supporting the arts, even becoming a silversmith in her spare time. She has served on more committees than she cares to mention and is an active community volunteer. She feels an affinity for the hospital, as she worked as a Medical Technologist for 16 years in her hometown of St. Joseph, MI. Elaine and her husband have three children, five grandchildren, and two great-grandsons. And she never made up a story for any other than McKenzi!
