Dr. Gilley is a retired aerospace engineer. During his 46-year career he held senior positions in numerous projects. Dr. Gilley was the first person to design a fully self-healing spacecraft for a mission to the outer planets. He developed the fault-tolerance requirements for the Air Force Strategic Defense Initiative programs and monitored compliance to these requirements.
