As of the 2000 census, the city population was 9,751, but as of 2004, the population was estimated at 16,200. Northeast of Dallas, Sachse is approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) north of the President George Bush Turnpike (Texas State Highway 190) and Firewheel Town Center. Sachse is home to the 18-hole Woodbridge Golf Course, home of the Northern Texas Chapter of the PGA of America.
