Roger Shimomura (born 1939 in Seattle, Washington) is an American artist and a retired professor at the University of Kansas. His works, showcased across the United States, address Asian American sociopolitical issues by the use of racist imagery.Shimomura was interned at the Minidoka War Relocation Center in Idaho during World War II.He graduated from Syracuse University with an MFA.His work is in the collection of University of Washington, and Washburn University.He showed at the Missoula Art Museum.
