Rodrigo Barreto de Oliveira (aka Bamboo) is the designer of the boo programming language and the author of Bamboo.Prevalence, the .NET port of Prevayler. Prevayler is an open source (BSD) system prevalence layer for Java: it transparently persists Plain Old Java Objects. Read operations are three to four orders of magnitude faster with Prevayler when compared to traditional database systems since all objects are always in RAM and in-process. The fact that it loads all persisted objects in memory comes with a disadvantage. It can not store more than the limit imposed by RAM.
