He is also a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors. Kirill Afonin is the Professor of Chemistry at University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He currently serves as the Founding Council Member and Vice President of International Society of RNA Nanotechnology and Nanomedicine (isrnn.org) and is recipient of several prestigious awards among which is Maximizing Investigators' Research Award (MIRA R35) from NIH.
