Attention is paid to the analysis of structural safety and accident rate of motor vehicles manufactured in Iran. The procedure of risk assessment is shown on the example of the braking system of a car which is widely used in the country. The proposed method of risk analysis and assessment allows to increase reliability and safety of car operation by preventing failures and possible accidents. Organization of operation of new models of motor vehicles and justification of warranty obligations of the supplier using the proposed two-stage approach allows to develop and implement in the practice of motor transport enterprises and dealer companies a system of technical measures to ensure accident-free operation of vehicles and reduce the cost of car repairs during the warranty period, taking into account regional specifics of operation.
