With RFID, the electromagnetic or electrostatic coupling in the RF portion of the electromagnetic spectrum is used to transmit signals. An RFID system consists of an antenna and a transceiver, which read the radio frequency and transmit the information to a processing device, and a transponder, or tag, which is an integrated circuit containing information to be transmitted and the RF circuitry. In Radio-frequency identification (RFID) the tag is used for an object (typically referred to as an RFID tag) a product, animal, or person for the purpose of identification and tracking using radio waves. Some tags can be read from several meters away and beyond the line of sight of the reader.
