In the first thrilling issue, Escape from Panorealis, Rex takes on his greatest challenge yet-posing as a plumber at an Erathian embassy (he's never fixed a tap in his life), flooding the place in spectacular fashion, and running for his life with every Erathian guard hot on his trail. His only ally? A dashing smuggler and self-proclaimed gentleman, Karlo Ludyn Schumstren, whose trustworthiness is as questionable as his taste in capes. The gold was a nice touch, of course, but it wasn't exactly portable-especially when you were moments away from asphyxiation and your only backup plan was to glare meaningfully at the stars until something helpful happened. Still, if there was one thing Rex Dodgers knew how to do, it was to turn a bad situation into a slightly different bad situation with a marginally higher chance of survival. Will Rex escape? Will his enemies regret underestimating him? Or will he just lie there, quietly resenting his life choices until the air runs out? Only time, and possibly a cunning plan involving space ferrets so to speak, will tell.
