The study investigates how sub-Saharan Africa is represented in the Swedish print media, Dagens Nyheter, and how second generation immigrants of Sub-Saharan African background perceive and relate to the representation of Sub- Saharan Africa in the Swedish mass media by using quantitative and qualitative methodology. In addition to that, the results reveals that participants believe that representational practices of Sub-Saharan Africa in the Swedish mass media subjects second generation immigrants of sub-Saharan African background to various forms of stereotypes and prejudice as second generation immigrants of sub-Saharan African background.
