On his way to Raipur, he saw a largely uninhabited wilderness and took twenty bighas of land from the zamindars. Then, he would find his meditation place and build a house named "Santiniketan Griha." Guests used to come and rest in that house, and discussion on the Brahmo religion was going on. Initially, its primary purpose was to propagate Brahmoism.
