Since we are actively engaged in synthetic organic chemistry, we came up with a thought to bring all reducing and oxidizing agents in a single window. Most of the textbooks available today in market on reduction and oxidation have limited information on mechanisms. Besides, they are limited to few reducing and oxidizing agents. This point of view again motivated us to write a specialized book on reduction and oxidation. Our vision is to provide mechanisms to almost all reactions mentioned in the textbook, so that under graduate and postgraduate students of Indian as well as foreign universities can easily understand the mechanisms of oxidations and reductions. Besides, this textbook is useful to students for the preparation of competitive examinations like National Eligibility Test and State Lectureship Eligibility Test in India.
