However, with little warning, all of that is plunged into jeopardy by machinations and vendettas far older than any of the Afterliving or their allies. Plunged into the middle of it all is young, idealistic and dedicated young Sheriff's Deputy Emerret Moore, who leads a double life as the Deputy Reaper of Eden. As the tempo and gravity of events begin to swirl like an early fall blizzard, Emerret finds his friendship with Dämonvülf Healer-girl Rosie deepening and growing into more. As the tensions and dangers rise, so does their attraction for each other.
