Polymeric substances recycled from excess sludge in wastewater treatment plants, reinsertion of Poly(Vinylidene Fluoride) (PVDF), polyolefin and Polypropylene post-Industrial waste by primary recycling, as well as the recent development of biomass and COVID-19 plastic waste derived char filled natural starch biocomposite briquettes are also covered.

Autor

Hanafi Ismail is currently the Director of Innovation Centre and Consultation, Universiti Sains Malaysia, Fellow Academy of Science Malaysia (FASc) and ex-Dean School of Materials and Mineral Resources Engineering. Professor Hanafi won many awards, from the year of 2000, including Khwarizmi International Award 2000, APCTT (Asia Pacific) 2000 International Award, ISESCO Prize in Science & Technology 2001 and Silver medal at the International Exhibition of Invention in 2002, 2004 and 2009. He has published more than 722 research papers in various polymer Clarivate/Web of Science-indexed journalsand is a Fellow at Science Academy of Malaysia and Top Malaysian Scientist 2012 and 2014. S.M. Sapuan is a professor of composite materials at Universiti Putra Malaysia. He earned his B.Eng. degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Newcastle, Australia in 1990, MSc from Loughborough University, UK in 1994 and Ph.D. from De Montfort University, UK in 1998. His research interests include natural fibre composites, materials selection and concurrent engineering. To date he has authored or co-authored more than 1300 publications international journals (629 papers), books (17), edited books (13), chapters in books (91) and conference proceedings/seminars (597 papers). S.M. Sapuan was the recipient of Rotary Research Gold Medal Award 2012, The Alumni Medal for Professional Excellence Finalist, 2012 Alumni Awards, University of Newcastle, NSW, Australia, Khwarizmi International Award (KIA).   R.A. Ilyas is a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Chemical and Energy Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, Malaysia. He is also a Fellow of International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM), Sweden, Fellow of International Society for Development and Sustainability (ISDS), Japan, a member of Royal Society of Chemistry, UK and Institute of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), UK. He received his Diploma, Bachelor's Degree (BSc) and Ph.D from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Dr. Ilyas was the recipient of the MVP Doctor of Philosophy Gold Medal Award UPM 2019, for Best Ph.D. Thesis and Top Student Award, INTROP, UPM. He was awarded among World's Top 2% Scientist (Subject-Wise) Citation Impact during the Single Calendar Year 2019, 2020, and 2021 by Stanford University, US. To date he has authored or co-authored more than 431 publications.
