Kim always focuses on the social and political problems and issues both in his home country and around the world. Many of his songs, as well as three plays (including Moscow Kitchens) were considered seditious and banned by the authorities. In 1998, he became a citizen of Israel, which inspired a new, very important, theme in his work. Overall, his creative palette is impressively diverse, and his work is nothing if not entertaining.
