The owner, Mrs. Chorits informs Zach and Whitney that Quentin bears the mark of the Shadow Beast, Oserinchor. The person that kills Quentin at the Rain Dragon temple will gain the power to command the night and the Noor. It turns out that Naguai has been shadowing the three in their travels. He intercedes to save Quentin. The draught was caused by Naguai having been distracted by helping Quentin. After saving Quentin and being reminded of his duties, the Naguai lets the rain begin. The drought is over.
