His dad is Cebuano and his mom is Bicolano. Both migrated to Norway where he was born in 1982 A full-blooded Filipino, though raised in Norway, he hardly spoke Filipino/Tagalog when he arrived in the Philippines in 2002. To improve his language proficiency, he took up Filipino/Tagalog lesson and reads aloud Tagalog/Filpino material for at least an hour a day.
