Rae and Dez are going to Coney Island Amusement Park to celebrate Dez's birthday. Rae has planned a surprise for her best friend but is worried that it won't go as planned. On the ride to the amusement park, they meet dancers, singers, musicians and even a magician but then the train comes to a halt. Will this ruin the surprise?

Jem T. Hughes was born and raised in the South Bronx, NY. She holds a masters of arts degree from Teachers College, Columbia University in NYC. She was an elementary teacher and now a school administrator, and writing a children's book has always been a dream of hers. She is very proud of the rich urban culture that NYC has to offer, especially the NYC subway. Her work gives pride to children who grew up in the inner city, and gives access to children who may have never experienced the inner city.
