In 2001, she was elected Chair of the United States Olympic Committee''s Athletes'' Advisory Council (AAC) for 2001-2004 and served on the USOC Board of Directors and the USOC Executive Committee. She also served on the Salt Lake Organizing Committee Board of Trustees, which helped plan the 2002 Winter Olympics.
