Restructuring has the negative connotation of downsizing, disruption of organizational routines and links, loss of organizational know-how. However, flexibility in the organizational structure is necessary. Transforming restructuring from a reactive to a preventive strategy is the challenge of contemporary management. The present research aims at defining the link between organizational restructuring and project management. The project establishes a temporary organization within the company that introduces organizational change. Project management can activate the preventive function of restructuring.
