Traditionally, probiotics were developed to alter Gut microflora. As the oral cavity forms the first part of GIT, it is conceivable for probiotics to influence the oral microflora. Several studies have demonstrated that the administration of Probiotics can improve oral health and since two decades the use of probiotics has gained popularity within the dental research community with a focus on caries development, periodontalhealth, halitosis, and many more.
