Thelma has a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics. She also has a Master's degree in Computer Programming, and is a Principle Software Engineer, as well as a mentor for junior developers. She is an ordained minister and the Co-Founder of The Tekeshe Foundation (www.tekeshe.org), a non-profit organization whose mission is to bring hope to people in Chipinge district, Zimbabwe. It offers diverse programs, spanning Education, Health, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Economic Empowerment, Food and Clothing and Vocational Training.
