The present list is the second to be published in this series. Many legume specimens from Bahia are deposited at Kew, a large proportion having been added to the collections as a direct result of the collaboration between Brazil and Kew. Nine thousand and sixty-six specimens were examined and 869 species are recorded in 135 genera, and duplicates lodged in other herbaria can be checked against the correct determination.
