In the field, the pea crop suffers from the attack of many enemies. Cryptogamic diseases are one of the main factors of the production decrease. Surveys carried out in four agroclimatic zones in western Algeria allowed the identification of Ascochytosis, Root and crown rot, Wilt-Jawn, Oidium (Erysiphe sp.), Downy mildew (Peronospora pisi), Bacterial fat (Pseudomonas syringae), Rust (Uromyces pisi) and Botrytis (Botrytis cinerea).
