Recent studies have provided evidence that positive emotions have crucial effects on diverse learning processes such as information processing, the communication process, the negotiation process, the decision-making process, category sorting tasks, and even the creative problem solving process. However, not many academic literatures exist on how to maintain students' positive emotion in multimedia learning contexts where various multimedia components are employed such as clip art, graphics, sound, video, stories, stimulating examples, and pedagogical agents. The study presented in this book investigated the effects of seductive augmentation and agent role on learning interest, achievement, and attitude in Web based pedagogical agent supported learning. The results indicated that the use of seductive graphics and seductive messages was effective to improve learner's attention to the learning material in terms of learning interest and learner's attitude. The findings from the studyshould be useful to professionals in Instructional Design and Training fields, or teachers who may be interested in designing and developing effective multimedia learning programs.
