When a new project on sugar cane irrigation was proposed for a small rural community in Swaziland, the EIA report showed that all stakeholders were consulted following guidelines of the governing environmental legislation. This book investigates the extent of stakeholder involvement in particular during project or programme implementation using the principles of sustainable development as a yardstick. Sabelo Nick Dlamini graduated from the University of Swaziland with a Masters in Environmental Resource Management. He then moved to Switzerland to pursue his PhD in Epidemiology with the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute. His interests include issues on spatial epidemiology and environmental policy, including sustainable development
