The July-August 2023 issue. During 2023 PN Review is celebrating its jubilee. Since we started as Poetry Nation, a twice yearly hardback, in 1973, we've been publishing new poetry, rediscoveries, commentary, literary essays, interviews and reviews from around the globe. This issue includes Jane Duran on her poet father and Spain; Ukrainian poet Oksana Maksymchuk in conversation with Sasha Dugdale, and a wide selection of her poems drawn from the conflict; Recovering the Welsh poet Iwan Llwyd; Tom Pickard's Chapters of Memory; Introducing German poet Mara-Daria Cojocaru; and Jon Glover, editor of Stand, in conversation. Autor

John McAuliffe grew up in County Kerry, Ireland. The Gallery Press has published his five poetry collections, including A Better Life (2002) which was shortlisted for a Forward Prize. He teaches poetry at the University of Manchester's Centre for New Writing. Andrew Latimer is the managing editor at Carcanet Press and also deputy and production editor of PN Review. He is an established editor, designer and publisher (founder and continuing editor of Little Island Press and of the magazine Egress) and a poet contributor to New Poetries VII. Michael Schmidt FRSL, poet, scholar, critic and translator, was born in Mexico in 1947. He studied at Harvard and at Wadham College, Oxford, before settling in England. Among his many publications are several collections of poems and a novel, The Colonist (1981), about a boy's childhood in Mexico. He is general editor of PN Review and founder as well as managing director of Carcanet Press. He lives in Manchester.
