In the week preceding her annual Oscar Party, Pity is chosen to be a stand-in for the leading actress in a new movie being filmed in Tulsa. In addition to causing several silly mishaps on the film set, Pity is faced with an unwanted admirer, a horrible school principal and her ex-husband's annoying girlfriend. Things do improve greatly when she accidentally falls into the arms of one of the most famous actors in America. Luckily, Pity has the support of family and friends, but can the unconventional sleuth survive her own investigative antics?
