Traditionally it is used to reduce the cough of a child. The objective of this study to explore and evaluate the phytochemicals, cytotoxic, antidiarrhoeal, antimicrobial, analgesic and thrombolytic activities to provide a suitable lead, which may be utilize in future to peruse a new line of research, based on the combined approach of both exploitation and exploration. Further studies were needed to find possible active ingredients and modes of action.
