Comparative study with children from various regions of the world

The purpose of this study was to analyze the levels of physical growth and nutritional status of children from a municipality in the metropolitan region of Curitiba, Paraná (BRA), relating the data on Body Mass Index (BMI), Waist Circumference (WC) and Waist to Height Ratio (WHtR) of Brazilian children with children from other countries in the world, through determining curves and percentiles. The study itself provides health indicators so that new health research can be carried out to combat childhood obesity, identifying the psycho-social aspects that can influence adulthood.

Autor

He holds a bachelor's degree in Physical Education from the Campos de Andrade University Centre (2010), a specialization in Exercise Physiology from the Federal University of Paraná (2012), and is a member of the Exercise and Sport Research Centre, working on observational and experimental projects in the area of physical training for athletes and at-risk populations.
