The study of the bright and unforgettable world of geographical names allows us to immerse ourselves in the cultural environment of a foreign-speaking society. In the monograph "Phraseological toponyms" the problem of national-cultural component of toponym meaning is investigated, which helps to reveal the features of phraseological world pictures in English and French. The work provides a comprehensive linguocultural analysis of the units under study: in terms of historical and etymological origin, localization and nature of the denoted objects, motivation and connotation, types of culture components.
