Der Autor weist in Platons Programm einen Ansatz einer apriorischen Begründung des Postulats einer philosophischen intersubjektiven Praxis nach. Jene Reflexion tritt aber zurück zugunsten einer nicht hinreichenden prinzipientheoretischen Begründung. Es zeigt sich, dass auch die systematischen Tendenzen Platons zur Auszeichnung einer absoluten Subjektivität keine befriedigende Vermittlung von Theorie und Praxis erlauben, dass jedoch wegen dieses Begründungsdefizits ein zentrales Argument auf Platons Idealismus zurückfällt, das er zur Kritik philosophischer Gegenpositionen verwandt hatte.
