This volume contains the papers presented at the North European Margin Symposium which was held at the Norwegian Institute of Technology in Trondheim from 9 to 11th May 1983. There were 216 participants at the meeting in Trondheim and 34 papers were given, most of which were invited. The meeting was opened by Dr K S Heier, Director of the Norwegian Geological Survey and a concluding address was given by E Bergsager of the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate, who talked about future exploration in Norway.
