Alec Leighton collected stories and observations of the people of Digby County, Nova Scotia, during his long career as a researcher and doctor. His son, Ted, continued the tradition. This volume combines the memories and creative storytelling to give a portrait of people who, while they may not have made headlines, lived notable lives worth remembering. Artist Eva McCauley has provided engaging illustrations to accompany the tales.

Autor

Ted (Frederick) Leighton, OC is professor emeritus at the University of Saskatchewan and professeur associé at Université Sainte-Anne. From 1984 to 2015, he was a professor of veterinary pathology at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine and was the founding director of the Canadian Wildlife Health Cooperative. Since retiring from academic science, he has focussed on creative writing. His first novel, A Ring of Justice, was published in 2022. He lives in Bear River, Nova Scotia.
