He goes on to establish a family life as a young adult and a professional career of public service. David experiences the upheaval of war as a soldier in the Gulf War's Operation Desert Storm. Its painful impacts were compounded by the death of his mother. As a public servant, David has touched the lives of many immigrants and citizens through law enforcement with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. The wisdom impressed upon this young son of Afowa during his early childhood has blossomed. He is inspired by his culture and traditions, and keenly feels the nostalgia and longing of the new diaspora.
